An excellent resource for expecting parents…
This book is an excellent resource for expecting parents that would like their child’s name to reflect their cultural heritage. As the descendants of Africans, some of us have lost our names, and learning the importance of one’s name makes this dictionary an essential part of one’s library.

I just read a review of your recently published book
Dictionary of African Names Vol.1 Meanings, Pronunciations and Origin. I was especially drawn into it because of direct relevancy. Within the last few weeks, I was reflectiong on the fact that one of my ancestors (a paternal great, great grandfather) was known to be an African of Yoruba descent, brought to the USA as a result of enslavement. In this country, he was known as “Alan” (with this spelling). When I read your read review, and zoomed in on your example of the personal name Alani being replaced for Alan, it all made sense to me. Because, I often wondered what was his Yoruba name. It could’ve very well have been Alani, particularly since he was “flesh of the boat”, sort to speak when brought to South Carolina via Jamaica via Africa (somewhere between Dahomey and Nigeria). For this reason, I shall secure a copy of your book. This alone reveals to me that your this will serve as a critical bridge, healing for a many Africans & African Americas.

Whether it covers all the 55 countries and territories in Africa or not, this book deserves to be published by a big-time publisher like Macmillan and others in U.K. Great idea! Great work! On behalf of Prof. Yemi D. Ogunyemi, I invite you to get a copy of each of The Writers and Politics and The Anthologies of the Diaspora. They are both enhanced by google.com Enjoy them.
